CASE
Jernbanemagasinet has existed since the beginning of 2004. The purpose was to put the railway on the agenda, in addition to reflecting the most important activities of the Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket).
I got hired as a freelancer by Redink and had the opportunity to manage the content of Jernbanemagasinet online in EPiServer CMS. My responsibility was to digitise, reformat and publish the printed version of Jernbanemagasinet which was produced in-house at Redink so that it became available to all of its readers on the web. Using HTML, I styled and formated the text using Jernbanemagasinets graphical profile. I also made sure to hotlink and enlarge illustrations, infographics and maps originally intended for print so that users on phone, pad and computer could zoom in and view the content with ease for optimal user experience.
To optimize my workflow, I made custom Photoshop scripts so that all photos and illustrations embedded in the printed version would be batch processed and optimized for web in terms of size and resolution to reduce load time and minimize network traffic on the readers device.
